Hollow Lantern is the game on this list I'd most recommend to someone who doesn't usually play mobile games. It's a quiet exploration adventure with beautiful hand-drawn art and puzzles built into the environment.

You wander an underground town that rearranges itself as you light more lanterns, and the sense of place is genuinely strong. I found myself remembering rooms by little details rather than a map.

The puzzles are logical, never obtuse. Every solution comes from something you already saw, which is exactly how this genre should work on a small screen.
